20 tips from a fellow designer

I recently found a wonderful design company located in the Charleston area of South Carolina through a mutual friend. Their philosophy on design is one of passion and desire; both vital for success in my opinion! I follow their blog often and found a wonderful list of 20 tips on being the best design student/professional that I wanted to share!

Favortique

One of my favorite new clients is a company called favoritque. They are a custom favor company with exquisite creations! What's even more exciting is that we are collaborating on an line of letterpress invitations! I can't wait to join in this new venture with Denise and Danielle as well as their printer/husband/father Bob. Here's just a few pics of their work at a recent bridal we attended together!

Ok, I definitely broke my New Years Resolution...

I can't believe it's been a month since my last post!!! I PROMISE I will get better at this but I think I have a good excuse... I've been extremely busy with clients!  I'm so excited to be working in this economy right now- so  I can't complain!

Why do I feel like I kind of already broke my New Year's Resolution? 

Well, at least I have a good excuse! Most of you may not know this but one of my new favorite hobbies is photography. I've been at it for a few months now but haven't had the opportunity to shoot with Krista from Impressions Photography yet. I thought I'd share some photos from the weekend. It was such a fun experience and I'm looking forward to shooting with her again! Be sure to check her blog out too!

Still not great but I spent most of the night last night and all day today figuring out why MY blog was the only blog being annoying! Still playing around with colors and fonts, but here's what we've got so far!

Blogspot is Killing Me right now!

Sorry for the random, and very bland changes you're seeing to the blog. Blogger has decided to make some changes to their site that have made simple adjustments to my blog very difficult! Stay tuned for a much better looking blog as soon as I figure this thing out!

Chez Alice Gourmet Cafe and Bakery

I have the wonderful opportunity to work with a local bakery here in Princeton, Chez Alice, on some new branding materials! The owner, Matt, is looking for a new, fresh look for this logo and marketing materials with a french twist (considering it's a french-themed cafe)! Keeping in line with the current color scheme of orange and black I've started some work on the logo for his new website and bespoke pieces. 

I'm so excited to be working on this project and will be sure to share more as it progresses along!

The most AMAZING bridesmaid dress!

My good friend Krista from Impressions Photography blogged about her new favorite bridesmaid dress and I wish I had seen it for my wedding! It's called Two Birds- and it's a wrap dress that can be worn 11 different ways! What a beautiful dress that flatters every woman and every body style. It's such  a great dress that I think I may buy a few for those great summer parties!!

I'm working on a whole new look for not only the blog but our website. I've taken on the challenge for designing my new site all on my own- definitely a new territory for me but I'm excited to be working on it!
